서울시립미술관은 2016년 첫 기획전으로 1월 19일부터 4월 5일까지 젊은 유망작가의 그룹전인 SeMA 블루를 선보인다. 2012년 처음으로 시작된 SeMA 블루는 한국의 동시대 미술을 세대별로 조명하고 지원하기 위한 전시다.
[하이코리언 뉴스] 이번 SeMA 블루 2016는 <서울 바벨>이라는 타이틀로 총 15팀에서 70여 명의 예술가들이 참여한다. 개별 작가의 작업을 심도 있게 다루었던 예년의 전시와는 달리 현재 서울시 도심 곳곳에서 자생적으로 생성되고 있는 예술 플랫폼과 이들의 창작 활동을 주목한다. 전시 속의 전시 형태로 구성되는 <서울 바벨>은 현대미술 중심의 예술 플랫폼과 더불어 최근 급부상하고 있는 스몰 디자인 스튜디오와 젊고 실험적인 형태의 전시 등의 다양성과 개별성을 상징한다.
전시는 1월 19일부터 4월 5일까지, 67일 동안 퍼포먼스, 작가와의 대화, 아카이브 웹사이트 런칭 등 다채로운 연계행사로 구성된다.

As Seoul Museum of Art's first exhibition of 2016, SeMA Blue is coming to you with works from bright and promising artists. Starting in 2012, SeMA Blue was created with the intention to support and highlight Korea's contemporary works.
The title for this year's SeMA Blue is "Seoul Babel" and the works of 70 different artists from 15 different teams. Unlike exhibitions from other years where it provided an indepth look at the work of each individual artist, this year's exhibition will put more of an emphasis on the different artistic platforms that are naturally springing up all throughout the city and different creative movements. It really shows off the experimental nature and uniqueness of small design studios that are rapidly appearing all across the city.
The exhibition is from January 19 - April 5. Look forward to 67 days of performances, artist talks, archive website launching, and a diversity of related events.
